Corporate Relations Manager

How You Will Contribute

The Philadelphia Museum of Art is currently seeking a corporate fundraiser to manage its Corporate Partners annual giving program and assist with sponsor solicitation and stewardship.This position is primarily responsible for advancing the Corporate Partners program, including the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of Corporate Partners.

This position works closely with members of the Museum’s Development leadership to implement strategies that advance PMA corporate support priorities. Alongside the Director of Corporate Relations, the Manager will also serve as a liaison to the Museum’s Corporate Executive Board. This is a unique opportunity for a development professional to increase the Museum’s corporate support as it advances a comprehensive campaign.

Specifically, you will:

  • Manage a roster of active Corporate Partners corporate donors to secure annual renewals, including direct solicitation for renewal and tracking, and reporting
    • Develop and implement a pro-active annual strategy to meet the program’s goals
    • Research and identify prospects and prospect segments
    • Cultivate and directly solicit corporate prospects to join the Corporate Partners program through in-person meetings, electronic communications, and print materials
    • Network with prospects and donors at Museum events
    • Implement and track benefit activation for 100+ Corporate Partner companies, including cash sponsorships and promotional partnerships
    • Oversee implementation of Corporate Partners stewardship communications in all formats (print and electronic)
  • Maintain accurate records for corporate donors in paper files and in Raiser’s Edge
    • Track corporate opportunities and activities in Raiser’s Edge
    • Manage processing of non-monetary corporate support, including gifts of product, gifts of service, and other support
    • Manage regular reporting responsibilities
  • Prepare annual operating grant applications, select restricted grant proposals, and required interim and final reporting
    • Meet all project and grant deadlines
  • Coordinate with PMA Finance department to ensure transparency and accountability in financial reporting to corporate donors
    • Oversee proper and accurate gift receipting and ensure compliance with tax deductibility policies
  • Develop strategic corporate solicitations that maximize giving potential in both unrestricted and restricted support
  • Oversee the preparation of materials for Corporate Executive Board meetings, and conduct research and create reports as needed for the Corporate Executive Board
  • Serve as primary Corporate Relations liaison to various internal departments, including Donor Engagement, Donor Communications, Development Operations, Admissions, Group Sales, Membership, Special Events, and Visitor Services
    • Work with Museum departments to produce brochures, advertisements, and digital communications to support corporate development goals
    • Provide cross-functional briefings to the Institutional Support team on corporate matters
  • Create event memos and oversee event preparation, planning, and execution for Corporate Partner and Corporate Sponsor events
  • Prepare and coordinate proposals, briefings, attachments, and other dossiers for Museum leadership to facilitate the corporate solicitation process as requested

Your diverse background includes:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Master’s degree preferred. 
  • Minimum three years of progressive experience in fundraising, preferably in an arts or educational setting.
  • Corporate fundraising and prospect research experience is strongly preferred.
  • Candidate must demonstrate exceptional communication skills and a track record of success, which is necessary given the varied portfolio of prospects with which this position works.
  • Candidate must also demonstrate confidence and experience with direct, face-to-face solicitation of donors/constituents, as well as a driven, results-oriented approach to ensure that the program is meeting its ambitious annual goals.
  • Other requirements include strong organizational, interpersonal, writing, and time management skills; attention to detail; and the ability to respect and maintain confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of the corporate philanthropy landscape is an advantage. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs is required, while familiarity with Raiser’s Edge, Adobe Acrobat, and Photoshop is preferred.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and demonstrated flexibility in meeting shifting demands and priorities is a must.
